Deletion of a domain administered by DENICdirect

You can only arrange for your domain to be deleted directly by DENIC if your domain is administered by our service DENICdirect. If your domain is administered by one of our members, you must contact your provider who will then process your application and forward the deletion request to DENIC.

DENICdirect customers should send the completed deletion request form with the legally binding signature of the domain holder or the administrative contact to:

Upon receipt of your written request, we will check whether the data is complete and, if this is the case, your order will be processed without delay.

Since 3 December 2013, a dedicated cooling-off service applies for all second-level domain names in the .DE name space and protect registrants against an unintentional loss of their domain(s), as a result of accidental deletion. During the 30-day so-called Redemption Grace Period (RGP), any deleted domain name may solely be re-registered on behalf of its former registrant.
